I usually begin the new year with a non-fiction book. The last few years have been a presidential (or FL) memoir, but I decided to pluck this one off my TBR and see how I like it.

August was a good reading month so it was hard to pick just one.
Chadwick is probably my favorite historical fiction author and this was yet another 5 🌟 book that I read. Like most of her books, it's rich in historical accuracy and makes you feel like you're in medieval Scotland and England.

A mark of a good thriller/suspense book for me is I get sucked in quickly and read through in one sitting. This one was no exception. I love the pace, keeping the story going and the fear of a missing child helped weave the panic and helplessness into the storyline.

Picked up this book while thrifting earlier this month. It looks interesting, so I thought I'd settle in with it for #hyggehour

Since I'm not likely to get in any more books before this time tomorrow, these will be my stats for 2025. It was an average year reading wise, and with ups and downs. Hoping for a more positive/level 2026, with at least the same amount of books 📚.

My #bookhaul 📚 between gifts (left) and thrifted (right) when we went out on Boxing Day. My plan is to spend NYD rearranging my bookshelves to make room 😅

This is actually the 3rd in the trilogy, but it was my favorite due to the historical aspect of the story. Not as legalese as most of Grisham's books, so if you're looking for a series about books by a great author, maybe look into this one. 📚
