From the creator of Netflix original series Dead End: Paranormal Park comes the graphic novel series that started it all! DeadEndia is immediately appealing with its colorful art, unique setting, and funny jokes, but I especially loved the complicated emotional arcs of the characters and the weird, spooky magic underlying everything! Molly Knox Ostertag, creator of The Witch Boy Heart-warming, heartbreaking, heart-pounding, and heartfelt!" Marika McCoola, The New York Times bestselling author of Baba Yagas Assistant Barney Guttmans life has been turned upside down. His family is struggling to fully embrace his trans identity, but thanks to his best friend Norma, hes just landed a job at Phoenix Parks, a Dollywood-esque amusement park inspired by the long life and career of mysteriously youthful actress and singer Pauline Phoenix. Soon, Barney and his dog, Pugsley, secretly move into the haunted house attraction. Little does Barney know, the house contains a portal to the demonic planes of Hell. When Courtney, Barneys devilish new roommate, invites a demon king to Earth through the portal, they offer Barney and Norma as flesh vessels for the king, but in a strange twist, Pugsley is possessed instead! Its a race through the park to save Pugsleyand the worldfrom the demon kings reign of terror that leaves Pugsley with strange and magical side effects. With all of this chaos going on, Barney is also discovering he has crush on park employee, Logan, so he must face his biggest fear of all talking to someone he likes. Follow the lives of this diverse group of friends in this hilarious and moving graphic novel series, complete with talking pugs, vengeful ghosts, and first love. Part workplace comedy, part supernatural horror adventure, with a splash of LGBTQ+ romance, The Watchers Test is perfect for fans of author Hamish Steeles TV series Dead End: Paranormal Park who are in search of more adventures, for graphic novel lovers who want more diversity in their reads, or simply as an introduction to the zany, creative, and laugh-out-loud funny world of DeadEndia.

Yesterday kicked off the #TransRightsReadathon which runs through March 31. It celebrates trans authors and/or characters, and invites folks to donate to organizations that help protect trans rights or support and uplift trans folks. Yesterday was a travel day for me, so I spent my flight times enjoying these. Mostly focused on Deadendia (which spawned the Netflix show Dead End Park) because of flight anxiety. #TRR #Comics #LGBTQIA #AceStories

Absolutely adorable. Look this book is disjointed and all over the place and confusing sometimes, but it is also sweet and hilarious and sad and honest. It‘s not a perfect book, but these are perfect characters.

This graphic novel was incredibly fun to read and filled with colorful characters (literally and figuratively). If you're a fan of Adventure Time or Rick & Morty, then you'll probably enjoy this comic.

Last #graphicnovel from my weekend binge, and my first #hubchallenge19 read! Twentysomethings Barney and Norma work at their local amusement park, Pollywood, at the “haunted” house. Which turns out to be a portal to hell (and elsewhere). And Barney‘s dog Pugsley is possessed. And learns to talk and becomes a powerful wizard. The plot is definitely out there, but the characters are delightful and the queer rep is great. My fave read of the weekend.

RealLifeReading Sounds fun! 6y
emtobiasz Author is an animator who originally conceived this as an animated series, so it has a lot of the same vibes as Adventure Time or Steven Universe. A little confusing but utterly fun. #lgbtqia #queerbooks #ya 6y

⭐️⭐️⭐️

This one is all kinds of crazy. Demonic pugs, a Pollywood theme park as a portal to a multi- dimensional universe, what seems like a demon version of Dolly Parton ? Despite the nonsense plot it has such great heart, the characters are charmingly diverse and I had plenty of fun reading it, which is a feat as I am not a comic reader by nature.
