I‘m always delighted to find books that combine the winter holidays I celebrate! Watching Sheldon and Theo navigate each other‘s very different quirks was adorable and hilarious. It helps that I also happen to enjoy the fake dating trope. #LGBTQIA #Holidays

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

jaye‘s second poetry collection delivers some really good stuff but a few of them missed the mark for me. Maybe it‘s cause I‘m reading on the subway and it‘s hard to take it all in while reading on a phone. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I do think it‘s important to read more queer, indigenous voices and jaye‘s description of their relationship with their body as a 2 spirit indigiqueer person is really moving.

Kenyazero Good find! I‘ll have to pick this one up. 6d
Kitta @Kenyazero it was available on Libby through my local library! 6d
Kenyazero @Kitta looks like my library doesn‘t have it physically or digitally, but I just placed a hold on another book by this author and an indigiqueer anthology their work appears in called Love After The End: An Anthology of Two-spirit and Indigiqueer Speculative Fiction 6d
Kitta @Kenyazero I haven‘t read that one! But it sounds good. 6d

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not as good as the power but an interesting read!

Science fiction/Speculative Fiction/Dystopian

Started out a little slow, but it builds. Some plot twists I guessed at, others I was genuinely surprised by.

And crochet blanket I finished today as the background!

Kenyazero Sounds interesting. Nice blanket! 6d

Miners are dying in the mountain. & as Bennie tried to investigate, a mysterious woman is pulled from the heart of the mountain. A witch, who knows that the mountain is waking up, & it is angry.

Wow wow wow. Industry vs nature, & the rural communities caught between the 2. Fascinating characters, queer representation, wonderfully creepy magic, & a fantastic grasp of the scene of Appalachia. An author to watch for damn sure.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗

Kenyazero This sounds like a fun read! 6d

The Kingston Cycle comes to a close as Robin tries to work to create a fair representative government, while helping the wrongly incarcerated witches rejoin society.

God this was good, but this was such an emotionally taxing time to listen to it. I loved all the characters & the gaslamp fantasy. But I was so stressed.😅Listening to people try so hard to bring about democracy, dealing w/ corruption, police brutality. Worth it, but rough.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗

I decided to pick up Deadendia for the #TransRightsReadathon since I‘ve been thinking about reading it for a while. The pacing is a little off, but otherwise this is a fun read. I definitely like how the characters and plot were reworked for the Netflix show. It‘s interesting that this was originally pitched as a cartoon for Cartoon Hangover before the comic was even made! This is a lower pick. #Comics #LGBTQIA #TRR

Kenyazero Almost forgot to tag prompts! #LGBTQIA2025 a twist ending; #GottaCatchEmAll Sliggoo: characters share one brain cell and a pre-loved book @PuddleJumper and #OwlHouseReadathon The Collector: a character with "the" in their title or name! (I thought it would take a long time to find one for that!) (edited) 4w

Working as a traverser who moves between worlds in the multiverse, Cara mainly collects data and brings it back to Earth 0. She‘s been picked for the job because you can only visit worlds where your other self has died and she‘s dead in most of them. One day she discovers she‘s been murdered in one of the other worlds and she starts digging into what happened.

Excellent LGBTQ sci-fi. Would recommend!

Darby returns to his small home town after losing his job. When he stumbles into the local bookstore & finds his younger self, he‘s forced to confront old choices & who he‘s become now.

I liked this liminal bookstore where Darby interacts w/ himself before he‘s come to terms w/ his identity, & “what would you tell your younger self”, but almost nothing else happens in this book.😅 Good characters, interesting relationships, but so slow.🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

For Razia, growing up is complicated by being Pakistani in 1980s NYC, highly religious parents, & her developing feelings for a fellow classmate @ her new high school.

Oh, but this broke my heart. My parents weren‘t as religious as Razia‘s, but her complicated friendships w/ the girls in her community, academic pressure, the feeling that you need to follow your parents‘ plan, & the fear you‘ll disappoint them, all felt familiar to me.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

Kenyazero I just started this one for QueerBC but I have plans to take it slow since it seems like it might be pretty tense/sad! 1mo

During an excursion for revenge on the knights that burned his goddess, her followers, and his home, Raef discovers a man trapped inside of a frozen box who upends the dismal reality Raef has lived in for more than a decade. Absolutely a new favorite. Outstanding world building and character development. Vivid character emotions, and fun relationship development. #LGBTQIA
