2 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
Making a haven for wildlife doesnt require acres of land in the countryside. If you get the habitat and planting right, then even the tiniest of urban gardens can host a variety of creatures from birds and bees to hedgehogs. Covering everything from going organic to making a pond and turning your green space into a wildlife haven this book is for gardeners who want to apply a more holistic approach to gardening and create their own urban sanctuary. Through a collection of simple projects that can be easily adapted for a variety of gardens and planting guides, this book will help you to re-connect with natural world on your own doorstep. Jane Moore will draw on her 16 years of experience of creating an urban sanctuary in the heart of the city as she lays out the simple ways in which you can approach making even the smallest patch of land a haven for wildlife, great or small.

Pickpick

A short book with lots of ideas on what to plant in your garden along with structures that might attract your local wildlife. I really want a pond now, but there is no way I can keep up the maintenance of one.

AnnCrystal We had a very large pond many years ago. Then a some small fountains. Now we're considering a couple of tiny fountains.

For one of the small fountains we once had, we found a small stone tub and purchased a solar powered fountain that simply drops into the water. We added rocks inside for the tiny ones (so no one drowns).

Darklunarose @AnnCrystal now that is an idea…..the idea of some kind of water feature is peaceful. If we can attract some pobblebonks into the yard even better! 6d
AnnCrystal @Darklunarose pure tranquility 🐸👍🏼⛲💝💝💝. 6d

Going to give this a go……

KellyHamHer Let us know if this is informative or not. I am curious 🧐 1w
Darklunarose @KellyHamHer I‘m 75% in. It‘s rather informative. Would probably be best for the uk and Europe plus USA. But it has me wanting a pond now..land honey suckle. She seems to have quite a series of books in gardening. I‘m going to check some of the others out as well 1w
