pickThis latest Janice Hallett book is responsible for an almost-all-nighter for me last night! Her style is not for everyone, and this one is just as unusually formatted, relying on text messages, VMs, email, etc to tell the story. The trivia night pub quizzes and the competition amongst teams added a fascinating structure but the main plot twist totally caught me by surprise.
pickCouldn‘t put it down! I loved every minute of this charming British mystery. Jam-packed with humor and interesting characters, this newest from Hallett kept me guessing til the end!! I haven‘t read all of her other books, but now I‘m motivated to do so because I adore the format (all told in letters, emails, texts, and interviews that reveal the story bit by bit).
…..But it does NOT make me want to join a pub trivia team 😅

pickYet another topsy-turvy, mystery from the Queen of epistolary whodunits (I‘m giving her this title, not sure if anyone currently holds it, but she‘s earned it! Haha!). I‘ve read most of her other works and so now I‘m trained to not overlook anything and I was still shocked at the ending 🤣🤯 Highly recommend if you‘ve enjoyed Hallett‘s other books!

pickI'm too lazy to pick up lots of arcs at ALA these days, but this is one I was very keen on getting. And like other books by Hallett, I found it nearly impossible to put down once I started it.
