Abigail Irene Garrett, a woman past her youth but not beyond the occasional scandal, works as a forensic sorceress and an officer of the Crown. Sebastien de Ulloa has seen more than 900 years and has nothing left to live for. When Abigail and Sebastien find themselves in the New World, one in which the magic of the Iroquois prevents the American Colonies from expanding, they become the young land's best hope for justice.

Okay. So many feelings. @xicanti you took so much care, the details of this package. My eyes were a bit misty this morning. You are so welcome. I love everything. The art, the packaging, the books. Most of all, the notes. You are a precious Litten. I was so 🍀 to receive this little box full of love, care and fun. Memory you are a perfect cupid Litten.

I passed 13 hours while I finished GARRETT INVESTIGATES and read a chunk of my daily Genji. There's no chance I'll hit 24 reading hours now, but I never really expected to so it's all good. I've still had fun reading everyone's updates and knocking stuff off La TBR and my library list. #24in48

I slept for about four hours, then got right back to #24in48 with a bit of reading in bed, followed by breakfast (eggs scrambled with sour cream, cooked in a bit of bacon grease, and finished with an appropriate amount of hot sauce) and cuddles with Casey while I put heat on my back.

Never hurt your back, friends. I'm not incapacitated, but I'm SO UNCOMFORTABLE.

The second story in GARRETT INVESTIGATES took me to 10:38. Onward!

cherinium As someone who has chronic back pain, I feel for you. Some days are quite the struggle for me. And just a tip I got from a physical therapist--while heat often feels better, it actually worsens inflammation, so depending on what kind of injury you have, ice may be the better way to go. (I hate ice, but have found it to be effective.) 6y
cherinium Also, I think I may have to try cooking eggs your way. Sounds amazing! 6y
xicanti @cherinium aw, poop. I don't think I can deal with ice today (the windchill is -38C), so I guess I'm gonna have to just sit very straight and avoid twisting around. I THINK it's muscular, going by what triggers it, but it's the first time I've dealt with anything like this. 6y
xicanti @cherinium sour cream eggs are sooooo good! 6y
