Space Demons
Space Demons | Gillian Rubinstein

They came pouring across the screen like alien and menacing insects. Excitement hit him like a fist in the pit of his stomach. Life suddenly seemed more interesting. He re-set his watch and began to play Space Demons again. This computer game is different. It won't just draw you in, it will make you part of the game. And there may be no coming back!

After (scrolling back on Litsy - it seems I‘ve been looking for 5 years) keeping my eyes peeled when I peruse second hand books - I finally found a copy of Space Demons, completing my trilogy (in the same edition)

Nostalgia feels! Since I was browsing with a friend, I even got to drop my favourite bit of Gillian Rubinstein knowledge 🤓 (she‘s also Lian Hearn of Across the Nightingale Floor fame)

Pickpick

I love to read this aloud - perfect for 10 year olds. Even though the computer game is dated, concept still works beautifully.

Hit a bit of a slump this month *but* these were all delightful!

Especially enjoyed reading the word CREEP used to describe people you don't like (who are being jerks) 😂 in Space Demons (perhaps it was in common usage in the mid80s?)

Quite pleased by the number of #australianauthors I managed to read this month!

I finally found a copy of SPACE DEMONS at a charity shop- it's water damaged, so I'm still looking for a perfect copy - but now I can reread! 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

Any other Space Demon fans out there? Or fans of Lian Hearn (cause they're the same person)?

Bibliogirl I had no idea they were the same person! I read all the Gillian Rubensteins I could get my hands on as a young teenager. 7y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Bibliogirl, easy not too, they're very different books! 7y
