Excellent song-by-song analysis of Bowie's golden period, from Space Oddity to Scary Monsters, plus a brief biographical sketch of his origins and early career. Clearly modelled on Ian McDonald's Beatles opus Revolution In the Head it's clearly one for the hardcore fan but could hardly be bettered.

Redundant, I know. When it comes to non-fiction, I want to read things about music the most. I love Mary Roach and Erik Larson and John Berendt, but my big thrill is a music bio. #somethingforsept
