pickAn interesting mystery, set in a fascinating time & place, filled with colorful characters who discuss religion, politics, & the clash of empires as they go about their daily lives. I love Li Du, the MC, and Hamza, his side kick (in fact, I'd love a series in which Hamza was the MC); I love the descriptive writing. And I loved that it was snowing in my town as I finished this book set during a snow storm high in the mountains of Tibet!
Loving this second book in the series. These words brought me up short and made me think.
pickI really really hope this becomes a full fledged series! I enjoyed Jade Dragon Mountain so much I worried this wouldn't stack up. It did not disappoint. Li Du was just as endearing and the murder he was investigating was just as interesting. You are transported into the story and the ending definitely left room for another. Fingers crossed!
