Not the first time I've been shocked by the weird attitude of Victorian (western) medicine to women's bodies.

Sooo, as long as she DIDN‘T want him to leave her, divorce was okay. But the minute anyone thought she might be happy about it, sorry, no divorce for you!!!

pickThis was great as an audio book. If you love The Victorian Era, you will love this piece of history.
A few weeks ago I've got this book and I can't wait to start it. The English title is 'Disgrace. The Private Diary of a Victorian Lady'.
But first I have to read books for my uni courses.
pickIsabella Robinson diary was used by her husband for the purpose of divorce. The fact that extracts were printed in newspapers was shocking. Her private thoughts and feelings. I can't help but wonder how the Victorians would cope with the oversharing we have nowadays on TV reality shows ☺ I really enjoyed this book
