Trolling Litsy prior to #24in48readathon. Another possible read for #24in48. A little over an hour until it begins. My default snack: Diet Coke and Chicken in a Biskit crackers. Oh, I have more. But I‘ll pace myself. Eeeeeeee!! I‘m. So. Excited!

blondie I just grabbed a diet coke too! My favorite 🖤 7y
vivastory I had the enormous privilege of meeting Hirsch several years ago. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend 7y
elkeOriginal I love those crackers too 🙊 7y

vivastory I really loved How to Read a Poem. Hirsch is the ideal poetry critic. Accessible, yet informative, a passionate advocate. 7y
Jinjer I haven‘t had those crackers in so long! 7y

Trying to get back into my nightly #poetry habit. Hope you all sleep well, Littens.

JackieSmith This sounds like a cool habit! Do you read through anthologies? 8y
CarolynOliver @JackieSmith Very occasionally; I've had good luck (for bedtime reading) with books like this one, a collection of short columns. 8y

I decided to resume reading poetry before bed after a restless few days, and this hit home hard. The poet is Edward Thomas (1878-1917). He died in Flanders two years after he wrote this.

Ending the night with poetry as usual, but laughing, unexpectedly. Happy dreams, Littens!

charl08 Love Wendy Cope. 'Higgledy-piggledy Emily Dickinson/ liked to use commas instead of full stops...' 8y
CarolynOliver @charl08 I need to read more of her poems! 8y

So I watched the debate, which was not super great for my mental health, and now I'm calming down with #poetry. Sleep well, Littens. Let's hope tomorrow is better.
