Trese: Case 1
Trese: Case 1: At the Intersection of Balete and 13th Street | Budjette Tan
3 posts | 2 read
When night falls, drivers try to avoid Balete Drive in fear of seeing the lady in white. For decades, she has haunted that street shaded by those ancient trees. So, when a lady dressed in white is found dead on that very street, it becomes more than just another car accident. It becomes a case of Alexandra Trese. Indeed, how does one kill a ghost? Join Trese as she unravels the secrets found around at the corner of Balete Drive and 13th Street.

#OctoberXFiles Day 12: Alexandra Trese is the antithesis of the #EvilWoman as she appears invulnerable and incorruptible. As the blurb goes: “When crime takes a turn for the weird, the police call Trese.” Reading these graphic novels is akin to opening your daily newspaper with all the reports of murder, mayhem, corruption, prostitution, drug cartels – except tinged with the supernatural. Day 9 of #BuwanNgMgaAkdangPinoy is a graphic novel I first discovered through my baby sister. Her collection is still limited to the books but if she's anything like me, I'll find a bunch of Trese merch lying around the house in no time. 🤗

Chachic There was a Trese shirt by Team Manila, I had one but I don't know where it is now.😂 Di na kasi kasya. 7y

Behold! My #MIBF #bookhaul, arranged in a #booktower! I suffered through crowds, rude people trying to cut in line, and cashier queues that were Sisyphean in their scope, but it was SO worth it - not least because I had friends along for the ride ;D. This year I wanted to focus more on Filipino publications and graphic novels, and I think I succeeded in that :D.

kammartinez @BookishMarginalia That flexing emoji is SO appropriate. The thickest books are from a university press so I didn't have to line up , but most everything else was purchased at the booths of the big chain bookstores, and those were PACKED. My arms are actually still sore from having to tote them all the way to the cashier D:. 8y
