I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!

If Marge Simpson, after she married Homer and had kids went back to Arty Ziff, this would be that book. But instead Arty is a narcissistic asshole, abusive (possibly murderer) and obsessed with controlling and “owning” Marge. The book is awful. There is no peace for the characters who are abused and no conclusion to the actual story other than Arty finally dies and it‘s in the stupidest possible way. I hated every second of it. Not worth a star.
I‘ve had this for years and heard it talked about on a podcast about good fall reads so I finally picked it up. I gathered quickly that this is a retelling of Wuthering Heights so the dark, chilly atmosphere & brooding characters seemed appropriate for this time of year. However, I am not a Wuthering Heights fan and this book reminded me of that fact. Well, at least it‘s now off my shelf and can be donated to someone who may appreciate it more.
Started this for September‘s #authoramonth, but finished it in October. 🤷🏼♀️ It has scary vibes, so it actually felt like a seasonal read. Sometimes referred to as a modern “Wuthering Heights”, the intense attraction that March Murray and Hollis experience is horrible to watch. @Soubhiville
I have LOVED all the Hoffman books this month but this one let me down...with characters who were hard to get engaged with and a slow story...it happens

Finally, starting my Alice Hoffman read for #authoramonth! @Soubhiville

Not for me. Too bland. 😝❤

Review: Such a mesmerizing book!! Can't wait to read more by Alice in the future!!
Finally finishing this gem by one of my favorite authors. I love how she puts a sense of magic into each of her tales.
When my husband and I were looking for a house, I told him I wanted to have a #littlefreelibrary. When we found our house, I didn't need to start my own - there was one just around the bend from our driveway. Kismet. (I linked to this book because it was the first one I got.) #riotgrams
It's basically a modern version of Wuthering Heights, but not as good.
