A witchy romance just for October. Much too spicy for my liking, and the spicy scenes were awkward. The ending came fast and wrapped up too nicely. Ugh. Book #82 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️

I want to say I gave this book a fair chance, because I picked it up three times since February, but I couldn‘t make it past page 15. This is definitely a NOPE for me. On a positive note, I‘m getting my Kindle cleaned up from all those stuff your Kindle events I did last year. #Roll100 #82 from February.

One of my #Roll100 Feb picks (#82 Any Non-Fiction) & also a #BlameItOnLitsy rec from @Kitta (on one of my posts about The Art Thief she recommended this one in the museum theft true crime genre). In this case a 20-year-old American flautist & fly-tying enthusiast steals 299 rare bird skins from a UK museum. I‘d have thought all the detail on fly-tying would have bored me but I found it & the crime fascinating. It reads like fiction.
Here‘s my #roll100 picks for this month. #6 is Sea Magick. It‘s about the sea and casting spells. #60 is a book about Jews and Pigs. #42 is a book about our brains. #82 is about a book about black fashion designers. I preordered the audiobook for the book about Jews and Pigs. I‘ll be reading that when it gets published but not this month. I will be reading these other books this month though. These are all Netgalley ARCs.
A little late posting my February #Roll100 picks but here goes:
#60 Any Retelling (of Sense and Sensibility-also reading for #Pemberlittens #JaneAustenThenAndNow ) Would work for #6 Any Kindle too since it‘s been in my Kindle TBR a while.
#42 Any Mystery (also reading as part of @JacqMac ‘s #AuldLangSpine list)
#82 Any Non-Fiction (a library e-book loan)
I‘m excited about all 3 of these! 📚
I‘m pretty excited about my December #Roll100 books—the dice were good to me! Nothing too taxing for December & all of them ones I have been wanting to read for a while
#82: A Wizard‘s Guide to Defensive Baking
#76 Since #76 was read already in Feb, I picked #77 Any Series & chose the tagged book), third in the Saffron Everleigh Mysteries
#10 Sleeping With Friends
The sequel to Next of Kin, focusing on Lane and Matt. I enjoyed this one more. Lane‘s anxiety made her very relatable. She needed someone like Matt, oh wait, I think we all need a total package like Matt!! Book #82 in 2024
I didn‘t realize this was a (very) short story when I downloaded it from kindle unlimited, but it was cute and perfect for December! I like the way Meghan Quinn writes and wish this was a full novel. Book #82 in 2023
Book #82
4.5/5
I was completely convinced for the first half of the book that I knew exactly who dunnit. I wasn't entirely wrong, but there was a LOT more to it than what I thought. This book kept me guessing, and I was suspicious of several people before the pieces all cam together in the end. Definitely worth a read for fans of the thriller/mystery genres.
A fantastic plot!! I loved the connections between the characters, they‘re not all direct but they are all linked. Then end came but didn‘t feel hurried, although I‘d love more detail on Jack and his uncle instead of the gloss over they were given. Book #82 in 2022
