I was disappointed that I bailed on this book, but I just couldn't justify the investment. I was impressed by the research and attention to detail, but the book moved way too slowly for me. There were a number of meet-cute scenes, but no tension or suspense. I was just bored. :-(

A medieval Montgomery/Taggert #romantsy by the one and only Jude Deveraux!!!

I adore the castles and knights and horses etc in the story. This is a high-born Lord that marries a lowly baron‘s daughter; there is instant attraction but the real romance builds over time and with plenty of challenges. Lord Ranulf says some things that make me roll my eyes, but I think the way he talks to Lyonene is probably appropriate for the time setting.

Blackout on Santa Cruz. Reading a medieval romance. Seems legit.

Jessisreading I remember reading that in high school, but the only thing I remember about it is that there was this book and it was very precious because books were tiny and precious and my teenage brain was like whaaaaaaa 9y
KarenaFagan I was recommended it by Alisha Rai and Sarah Maclean and when those two tell you to read a thing, you do it! I want to say I read it before, but it's been more than 10 years if I did and I don't remember it. 9y
