This classic 1936 sci-fi work is a brutally cutting satire. In the story, humans capture and enslave an intelligent breed of newts, but eventually the tables are turned on them. Čapek uses the relationship between the humans and the newts to make fun of and expose the ugliness of colonialism, the Nazi regime and segregation in America.

📚 finished November Road for #BOTMBuddyRead - I had a hard time getting into the story at first, but then I liked it. I think the ending was a bit far-fetched, but I still liked it. 👍

CoffeeNBooks 🎧 I really only listen to audiobooks when I'm on the treadmill, and for some reason The All-Girl Filling Station's Last Reunion wasn't holding my attention. I have the book, and I think I'll like reading it better. I love Fanny Flagg!
