The Good People | Hannah Kent

I got to meet Hannah Kent! I had just finished reading the Good People (straight after Burial Rites, I might add!). I loved the book and listening to the research behind the book and how the idea came about was so amazing. Such a lovely author, one of my new favourites. The Good People is a 5 star read for sure (historical, Ireland, fairy folklore, disability, prejudices). #2016read #newfavourite

The hype is deserved. Just fun and quirky. Loved seeing the diversity of the female characters. 5 stars. #2016read

Loved rereading the Witches. Haven't read this since I was little. I remembered being so deliciously scared when I was younger and it definitely is a fun read. 5 stars #2016read #reread

Sorry for spamming everyone with reviews, haven't been on in awhile and left a bunch of books in my reading pile. This was a bookclub pick and it had so much potential, great atmospheric creepy build yet I was expecting something more sinister to go with the rituals. Unique idea but didn't pull it off in my opinion. 3 generous stars #2016read #bookclubpick

Atmospheric spooky read. Great for Halloween if you are looking for a short, creepy book to dive into. It took a little bit to get going but once it did, wow 😳 you may want to not visit graveyards or old houses for awhile afterwards. #2016read

Continues on from where the first book Six of Crows ends. This duology was amazing, lots of twists and turns, characters that you root for and fall in love with. Didn't want to leave this world and the group to be honest. Easy five stars. #2016read #seriesread

Second book in the Hollow Gods series. Really enjoyed the new characters, the introduction of new gods and the continuation of the story lines. Loads of character development and plot twists. This is for your fantasy lovers that like their worlds a bit more weirder and violent #2016read #seriesread #librarybook
