Finally completed reading these two which were a Christmas gift. In my defense , I was traveling for 4 months. Hadn‘t read anything by Nnedi Okarofor so absolutely loved these two. Now to read the last part of the trilogy 😎 #newfavourite #sciencefiction

Half of a Yellow Sun | Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Pickpick

Years ago when I read The Handmaid‘s Tale, I knew I would greedily devour other novels by Atwood (which I did). I have the same feeling after reading Half Of A Yellow Sun. It‘s a beautiful novel. I still cannot stop thinking about the characters. Can‘t wait to read Americanah and Purple Hibiscus.

AppuNthebooks Ditto! I can‘t get enough of Adichie! I lapped up her books. And as for Atwood, the book that got me hooked was Blind Assassin. 6y
BiblioLitten @AppuSam The Blind Assassin was really good. Alias Grace is another favourite 💕 6y

The Good People | Hannah Kent

Pickpick

I got to meet Hannah Kent! I had just finished reading the Good People (straight after Burial Rites, I might add!). I loved the book and listening to the research behind the book and how the idea came about was so amazing. Such a lovely author, one of my new favourites. The Good People is a 5 star read for sure (historical, Ireland, fairy folklore, disability, prejudices). #2016read #newfavourite

#day15 #awardwinning Our forefathers had a custom of (in the Hibernian idiom) fasting against an offender or debtor, that is, starving conspicuously outside his door. Saint Patrick himself is said to have fasted against his Maker on his namesake mountain in Mayo, with noted success: he shamed the Almighty into granting him the right to judge the Irish in the Last Days #booktober #newfavourite

PrincessLibrarian I just finished this today!! 7y
Onioons @PrincessLibrarian wasn't it fantastic? I was glued to it all day! 7y

Mom was smart, and George loved her a lot, but Mom didn't know about boys. Boys didn't like George, and George wasn't so sure what she thought about them, either.
