I honestly don't know how to rate this one. It was wild from start to finish. I can't tell if I loved every second or if I found it absolutely ridiculous. Maybe it's a little bit of both. It was definitely fun. I also plan to continue reading the series, so I must have enjoyed it.

New Book Cover (2024) - Required due to book USA publishers not accepting a book cover with a small German swastika flag upon it - which was nothing more than an historical reference regarding the storyline of the book. It seems our society is becoming more and more controlled by the political lefties, cancel culture and the woke culture ideology followers.

I read the ARC I received from #NetGalley far too long ago to just now be reading it, but at least I finally got to it. I was skeptical that I would enjoy it, but I finished the book within a few days. Even though I saw the plot twist toward the end coming from a mile away, it wasn't a bad read overall. #SciFiSummer

The protagonist, James Reece, is a captivating character who undergoes a remarkable transformation throughout the book. Carr skillfully weaves together Reece's personal journey with the larger plot, creating a compelling and dynamic narrative. I found myself emotionally invested in Reece's struggles and rooting for his success....

@karisimo

I had no idea Horowitz created this series for young adults. According to Wikipedia, “Alex Rider is a series of spy novels by the English author Anthony Horowitz. The novels revolve around a teenaged spy named Alex Rider and are primarily aimed towards young adults. The series currently comprises 14 novels, as well as six graphic novels, seven short stories, and a supplementary book.“

I'll have to check these out!

Daisey I‘ve read a couple of the early books in the series. They were fun, action packed reads. 1mo

The Charlie Thorne series is fantastic. Charlie is a genius who works with members of the CIA. These are the first two books, the first includes information related to Albert Einstein and the second to Charles Darwin. The third relates to Cleopatra, and I haven‘t read the newest book yet.

Karisimo I‘ve read other Stuart Gibbs books but not these (yet)! Thanks for sharing! 1mo
Daisey @Karisimo I actually have a book or two of the Spy School series (which I guess also fit this prompt) in my class library, but I‘ve never read them. As much as I like Charlie Thorne, I really should try them. 1mo

💪 Huge fan of the film ... and now the book.

LibrarianRyan Congrats. I read this as a dare from another litten years ago. So different. Book one came before the movie, but book 2 and 3 came after and were written based on the plot of the movies.

A solid volume, though probably my least favorite so far. I‘m not a huge fan of Yuri and he‘s in this one a lot. However, Anya is adorable and hilarious as always. 3.5⭐️
