Prompt: Hanna
Both these books are well written and have a great MC. One comment, while I liked The Bourne Identity, I felt the movie was better. Very rare for me.
Started off fast and interesting (though at times appallingly sexist), but I got very turned around in Part 3 in terms of well...Bourne's Identity.
I enjoyed Marie once she got to be the super competent diplomatic financial wizard we all knew she could be, but heck if I understand why she bothers with Bourne half the time.
Also, Mr. Ludlum, if you are so uncomfortable with sex scenes, just fade to black. Weird euphemisms are just uncomfortable.
This pretty much sums up my feelings on The Bourne films. The Bourne Identity was the first true "grown-up" book I ever read, and it was a blast. The second and third are pretty good as well, though I find the climax of Ultimatum isn't as explosive as I'd hoped for. But the movies? Nah, they can kick rocks.
Great read! Really enjoyed this brilliant book and thoroughly recommend it!

🐕 When I was 5 my Dad brought home a mop of a dog for me. I called him Fluffy. We never really figured out what made up his mix. Maybe Old English Sheepdog or Newfoundland was the fluffy part. The rest Lab maybe or some kind of hound?
🔥 Our woodstove. This week has been cold and we have had the stove going every evening.

📖 I reread at the first of the year. Still like the movie better.
📚 I don't really have an opinion since I seldom read a thriller. Most don't have enough character development for my tastes.
📚 That would be most of the authors that are in that genre. 😂
I‘ve always liked the movies, so I decided to give the book a try. It‘s fun, but not interesting enough to me that I‘d want to continue with the series. I did appreciate the layers of complexity, though there are some insensitivities in it (Bourne speaks “Oriental” 🤦🏼♀️) that aren‘t quite explained by the time it was written. Ludlum should have known better, frankly.

One of the few times I liked the movie better.

#Identity
This is the first book I thought of and one of only a couple that I liked the movie better.
I‘ve seen the movies...they were not even close to this! I can‘t say the book was better it was entirely different. I enjoyed it though it was a little long. This is my first book by Robert Ludlum so it took a little getting used to. I think I will read another one at some point.

#Amnesia
This is one of the very few books that I liked the movie better. Not to say the book was bad, just liked the movie better.
Saw the film of this #ActionPacked novel. I should probably try and read the book, because I didn‘t have a clue what was going on in the film most of the time!

One of the few action books that character development was as important as the plot.

Loved the movie. Really want to read just can't get to it.
A twisty and fun thriller. I saw the movie when it first came out and only remembered the bare bones of the story. When Bourne is washed up the shore he has forgotten who he is and what his mission was...he returns to Zurich and his quest to find himself begins. #booked2019 #booktomovie #40thbdaychallenge #1980
#wanderingjune #letsgetlost @Cinfhen @BarbaraBB In The Bourne Identity Jason Bourne has no memory of who he is. He spends a big part of the story trying to get back what he‘s lost. This was actually the book that got my husband interested in reading.
Either this book is long or I'm reading really slow..😂🤣#libbyapp #overdrive #thebourneidentity #spybook #books #sundayvibes #sundayreading
Reading The Bourne Identity using the Libby App
*... Rubs hands..* I feel I need a bowl of popcorn!
I clearly remember when My grandma handed me this #thriller in response to my love of mysteries. Still one of my favorites.
Well, Idk if it's a popular book or not...but I really really hate 'The Bourne Identity'.
It was a bestseller upon its publication, the successful thriller series, is still on going, long after Robert Ludlum 's death. And we all know how Matt Damon 's tearing it up as Jason Bourne.
However.....😧
Believe me I tried to finish this book, lumbered to almost 450 pages, then got scared of more 150 pages of excruciating boredom, and bailed.😧
@Libby1
Despite all the books I read, I have only this #readingselfie #riotgrams #tbt
I rarely bail but the prospect of wading through another 500 pages of this boring, badly written heap of crap was causing me to lose the will to live.
I wanted to like this book. It was supposed to meet one of my #POPSUGARChallenge prompts, a book that was a bestseller the year I graduated from high school. I tried it in audio and in written format but just couldn‘t make it through the book. I guess I‘ll have to find something else for the prompt.
I started The Bourne Identity a couple of days ago. So I am alternating between audiobook and ebook. It‘s a big book (22+ hours and 719 pages), which I find to be a bit stiff and plodding. I also don‘t care for the narrator, who just doesn‘t seem to be a natural reader or performer (speeding up the audiobook to 1.25 has seemed to help). But I still find it interesting.
So I tried to read this book 4 times and bailed!! Anyone read this? What's your opinion of the book? I'm probably going to try again properly again sometime!🤗
I always make sure to carry a book/books while I travel but don't get any reading done! I'm always distracted by the hustle and bustle in the airport and inside the plane I either look outside the window or sleep or daydream!
Does anyone experience the same?😊

An hour into The Bourne Identity, and I have decided I dislike the narrator. He‘s very affected, stiff. But this fulfills a requirement for my #POPSUGARChallenge a book that was a bestseller the year I graduated high school. I probably will alternate between audio and ebook since I have checked out both versions from the library. Or maybe I‘ll get some audio crochet done.
Superb! Salute to Ludlam! Try it!
Enjoying this book more than I thought I would. I really like the writing
"The easiest thing in the world is to convince yourself that you're right. As one grows old, it is easier still."
True story: This is one of my top five movies of all time (I do not have an explanation for my taste in movies). I've never read the books, so here goes. So far, it is delightfully overwritten in a way that is working quite well in audio, and I am totally hooked.
Since I haven't participated in any monthly photochallenges for some time I thought, I join this one.

Happy Birthday!!!!
I've read The Name of the Rose, still have to read the other ones.
Last day at Bourne Design, my company, before my holiday starts!!
#90sInJuly #day14 #ScarTissue A man wakes up covered in scars, bullet wounds, knife scars etc, and no memory. Thus starts this spy thriller, with a man with no name trying to find his identity & stay one step ahead of the men trying to kill him. With the name, Jason Bourne, comes a past which he might have been better off not knowing. I first read this as a teenager & loved it, the subsequent books are just as good.
#SplashIntoSummerReads #day23 #HideAndSeek Spy novels are the ultimate in hide and seek, you could put up any "Cold War" novel for this prompt and it would fit.I love the Bourne series, this was the first spy novel I read as a teenager. I loved the idea of a man who wakes up with no memories but able to do all these killer moves without thinking. Would you freak out if you couldn't remember your name, but were able to take apart a rifle in 20sec?
I read one of those "what was the most popular book the year you were born" listicles and this was mine so I decided to download the audiobook for this rainy day.
It's raining outside so even though it's still 30+C & 80% humidity, Ted E Bear, Monsieur Milkshake & I are curling up in my library with a coffee, a spy novel that I got down for a challenge and got hooked reading, & listening to the rain on the tin roofed carport outside my window. Summer in Australia!🇦🇺
#photoadaynov16 #day22 #spynovels What spy novel is more famous than The Bourne Identity?I had the original with the 80s cover but it got "borrowed"? so had to buy a movie cover to replace.Jason Bourne wakes up in Europe with no memory or name. With just some bullet scars & some microfilm found implanted in his hip he tries to find out who he is before his attempted killers try again. I loved this when I first read it, much better than the movie.
Once I started this #mystery series, I binged every last available book. Of course, we didn't call it binging back then. Every one of the early books in this series is amazing. Depth in characters, plots, with plenty of twists. #FunFridayPhoto
This has been on my shelf for over a decade and now...it's Ludlum Time 😎
Waited all day to get back to this place and pick this back up. My friend Jeff's book comes out in a few days and I'm holding an ARC in my still slightly feverish hands. Think Jason Bourne with a more supernatural conspiracy afoot, written in snarky journal entries! Note: cover reveal pending!
