I read this book many years ago, and felt compelled to re-read it. I'm happy to say I loved it just as much as I did back then. A beautiful and enduring story, worthy of reading over and over. 💜

This was a great retelling of the Biblical story of Tamar.
Fourteen year old Tamar is betrothed to Ur, the son of Judah. She is terribly mistreated by her husband and mother in law.
Worst of all, she is left widowed and childless.
Tamar does what she feels is best to insure an heir for the family of Judah.
Someone mentioned their favorite book with “moon“ in the title, which made me think of mine. I feel so lucky my childhood library had this somewhat obscure series! (My own copy has no bookcover, so I found this one online.)

Such a beautiful, heartbreaking book!
So I am horribly late for mays #bookedintime - sorry! This was a compelling story of Rahab a prostitute who survived the fall@of Jericho and went on to marry Salome. Christian fiction is not something I have ever really read but I did enjoy the strong message of faith, forgiveness and more.
This deserved all of the accolades and honors and awards it won. Beautiful book. Great story, fabulous writing, characters with some depth.
A retelling/twist on the Old Testament story of Jacob. It is not his story but that of his only daughter,Dinah. Told from her point of view and it is her life. I love the way Diamant takes this briefly mentioned in the Bible character and creates this entire life for her.
4.5⭐️ badass females all around.

I enjoyed the author's take on the passage from the Bible about the woman with the issue of blood. (See above) It's a heart-wrenching story of faith and redemption. Characters and plot are well developed. I would definitely recommend it.
I served as a coordinator for Mesu Andrews. I had the opportunity to host her in my home for a conference, drive her to Indiana, & meet her Mama. When this photo was taken she was speaking at a Ladies Retreat. She invited me as her guest at a time I couldn‘t afford an experience like that. She is a real woman with needs, health struggles & a heart for obeying God to love others. This is my favorite book of hers though not usually chosen by others.
