Erica is writing a book and is in contact with a woman in jail who has a link to Patrik's case of missing girls.

EadieB This is the 9th book in the Patrik Hedstrom series and my favorite of the series so far. It is tightly plotted and the characters are very interesting. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series and would highly recommend readers to start at book 1 and learn more about the characters of this unique Scandinavian crime series. 4y

This is one of the best books in the series so far. A good story, and police investigation to find out why a ‘nice‘ man has been shot! Alongside this we have a mystery surrounding a ‘ghost isle‘ and a woman trying to escape from a very abusive husband. Plenty to get your teeth stuck into in this book, although like with others in the series it could be shorter but that seems to be the style of these books. I loved the supporting characters.

Andrew65 @BarbaraBB No reason why you can‘t read this as a standalone, the plot is all within this book with nothing relating to the other books. Where characters are concerned it gives you the information you need within the book, you may miss a bit of character development but not impair enjoyment of the book. 5y

She gets no answers and 2 days later he is found dead. Her husband, Det. Patrik Hedstrom, is on paternity leave but does get involved with the murder investigation. Could her mother‘s secrets endanger their lives. Read this book to find out! Looking forward to next installment!

Sweden. Tragic car crash. Woman is found dead. Reality TV show in town. Cast member dies. Cast/Crew is suspected. More bodies mount up. Chilly thriller with blood curdling horror. Hard to put down. Interesting characters. Lackberg has another winner. Looking forward to next book in series. Highly recommended to those who love mystery/thrillers.

Fjallbacka Sweden A little girl is found in a fisherman‘s net. The drowning is found to be murder. The mother is a personal friend of Erica who lives with Patrik Hedstrom, a local police officer. Another interesting book by Lackberg. Only complaint is that book is too long. Characters and plot are unique. Suspects are many and hard to flesh out. A surprise ending has me looking forward to next book. Recommended!
