Pickpick

I can‘t believe I forgot to post my review of this. Whoops!

This is a very interesting and in depth look at Lizzie Borden‘s trial. It has a very brief section on Lizzie‘s life after the verdict. It covered the murders themselves clearly and concisely, but mostly from the angle of things that would be important later in the trial.

GingerAntics Robertson even mentions that there is still a file locked away in a law firm that is the entire contents of the defence team‘s notes and information on the case. What I wouldn‘t give to get my hands on that, but the law firm is still claiming lawyer-client privilege, even after all these years. #TheTrialOfLizzieBorden #CaraRobertson 4y

🤣😂🤣
Is it ever helpful? Let‘s be honest with ourselves.
Actually, I was not familiar with the difference, but I suppose in that time it was more common knowledge.

We‘re STILL having this debate. This is still being put forth as statistical evidence. Somehow, there are still people who don‘t see this as vengeance or state sanctioned murder. It disgusts me. This is very well put, though. It is LONG since time we outgrow this barbaric practice.

This always stuns me. It‘s these people who get upset if you mispronounce their name, even if it‘s weird or ambiguous, but they‘re fine calling people “beneath them” by whatever name is convenient for them. Perhaps this is motive?

“Will It Remain a Mystery?”
Well, so far it certainly has.

Getting started on this. I really hope I have enough time to keep up with the weekly readings. The chunks of reading seem really big this time around.

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Luckily we have 2 weeks to read Part 2, which is about 170 pages, I think. I'll likely go through it to break it up into manageable chunks. It's interesting but since legal proceedings usually aren't my thing, I won't be able to power through it the day before. 4y
GingerAntics @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I usually do my reading Saturday so I remember it all better. I don‘t think I‘m going to be able to do that this time. 4y
