The Lovers | John Connolly

It's been a while since I visited the world of Charlie Parker and I am now wondering why I left it two years as I immersed myself back into the world in which gritty crime merges with supernatural horror. In this one we learn more about Charlie's origins and the story of his father. It leaves threads open for futures books and I can't wait to read onwards.

Loved it ❤️ one of my fave series. Combining thriller and horror themes and generally set in creepy old Maine. Full of characters that you‘ve come to love over the last 20 books.

FlowerFairy I‘m only five books into this series but I love it! 6mo
Caroline2 I still need to read number two! I remember really liking book one, think we read it for our old crime book club….. oh can‘t remember what it was called now? Do you remember? We used to post the books to each other. WHODUNNIT! That was it! 😂 6mo
Addison_Reads I can't wait to read this one. 6mo

Oh, I just love this series! It‘s hard to believe this is the 21st book in the Charlie Parker series— this one harkens back to some of the earlier books in the series in a lot of ways— evil lurking in remote corners of Maine, a single case with threads with a further reach than at first visible. Fast-paced and thrilling, series regulars all appear here and the worst part, is that this starts the long wait for Connolly‘s next book all over again!

March 20 #MarchMagic Favorite Male Author This is my favorite male author. After you read one of his books, you'll be so impressed with the vocabulary that all other authors feel like they are writing at grade 10 level. This is my favorite series from this author. It's dark mystery thriller with great characters. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

Eggs He sounds amazing 🤩 2y

Is there anything more annoying than downloading an audiobook and realizing it‘s the abridged version?! I have the ebook but the file type must be weird because it will only open on my iPad kindle app and not my paperwhite… I was excited to be able to listen to it instead! My mom has been bugging me to read this series for years, but she‘s just going to have to wait a little longer…

Bookzombie It‘s so annoying when that happens! I don‘t really get why there are abridged books anyway. 2y

This one was with Angel and Louis. Love these two characters. I love this author. Every chapter is like a mini story within the big story.
