This one was so good i devoured it. Vlad was a bit more literal. I didn‘t realize this one was third in a series. It read as a stand alone. There is quite a plot twist in the middle of the book that I certainly didn‘t see coming. Turns out I‘ve read the first in the series so now will go back and read the second. Hope to read more of these characters in future books. #catsoflitsy

Wow! That was one heck of a ride. Now I understand why there are few details when folks review this book. It‘s just too difficult to accurately describe without giving out spoilers. This was a quick read-in-one-evening story but really packed a punch.

Sunday mornings are for books, blankets, biscuits and Bruce Wayne (aka Sir Chonkasaurus). I‘m fairly picky about werewolf novels, but so far this one is pretty good.

*Edit: Gonna call this one Werewolf Lite. More like a romance with a touch of werewolf thrown in. And even though I don‘t care for romance, this was still a good story.

Books can come to our rescue when we least expect it. Stuck in a waiting room for longer than expected? Pull out a book! Too much people-ing? Read a book & escape. Today a book came to my rescue at the DMV. We got married at the end of February (Leap Day)& I had yet to change my name on my license. Thought I had everything I needed until the clerk asked for 2 pieces of mail with my name & address on them. I had nothing. Then I remembered …

FlowerFairy the ThriftBooks order that arrived today and I had pulled from the mailbox before heading to the DMV. Rushed out to the car, grabbed the package and ran back in. Sometimes book shopping saves the day! 🤣 (edited) 4mo

I really enjoy Rachel Harrison but this collection of short stories is only about a three and a half star rating.

I was 6 years old when this book was released & remember our teacher reading it to us. I was immediately in love with both the story and the artwork. I had my own paperback copy that I read repeatedly & read the same copy to my children decades later. I‘m pretty sure this book (& a steady diet of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Twilight Zone & The Addams Family) helped spawn my love of all things spooky. Was so happy to find this as a hardback. 🖤

Suburban Hell by Maureen Kilmer was not at all what I was expecting and in the very best way. I thought this was going to be a fluffy brain candy read that would quickly be forgotten. Instead, I found a page turning, unputdonwnable, in one sitting read. The characters were well rounded, believable and relatable and the story creepy and intriguing. Currently tied for first place in my favorite reads so far this year.

Happy Sunday! If you haven‘t read read this yet, get on it pronto! Keep It In The Family started out as a slow burn but suddenly John Marrs blindsides you with bombshell after bombshell. Just when you think you have everything figured out and you know where this story is taking you, Marrs grabs the wheel and takes you down a road you didn‘t even know was there. This was my first John Marrs book but will certainly not be my last.

Mehso-so

Audiobook I‘ve settled on a solid “meh” for this one. The story was interesting but the characters weren‘t nearly as well rounded or engaging as The Silent Patient. It was hard to believe it would be so easy to insinuate oneself into a murder investigation the way Mariana did. Was planning to give this 3💀but the “reveal” caught me off guard and made for a good ending. So while not quite 4💀, I will give it 3 💀and a mandible.

AmyG I just read this too and gave it a 3. Much of it sounded “out there” but yet it kept my interest. 2y
