A couple of read alouds from this week so far. Ollie is a sweet book about sticking up for others. Also my kids suggested it means what you look like doesn‘t matter. It‘s what I‘m the inside. Well done kids! #classroombookaday

Today read aloud. Very interesting informational narrative. It‘s based on the true story of an island off Norway. They participated in an experiment to run the island off entirely renewable resources. Some residents used wind turbines, others used solar. It‘s has some wonderful information about renewable vs non-renewable resources, global warming, etc. #classroombookaday It‘s one of my CBADs on my April #bookspinbingo card

All three of these read alouds were fun or cute. I‘ll admit that How to catch a dragon was a bit young, but the kids enjoyed it anyway. The live books with rich, detailed pictures and the Curious Garden delivered. #elementary #classroombookaday #readaloud

Yesterday‘s #classroombookaday #readaloud. I selected the book Bc of the Rotti on the cover that matches my Taylor. It‘s a sweet story about the fun the dog and his girl has together when they should be taking an afternoon nap. Now I want to read the others in the series.

Chrissyreadit I love the Carl Books! I have used them to get parents who do not know how to read to feel less intimidated reading with their babies and toddlers- the pictures are gorgeous! 4y
Tattooedteacher @Chrissyreadit what a wonderful idea! Thanks for the tip. 4y

Today‘s #classroombookaday #readaloud. A gentle yet assertive story about the importance of water in the MC‘s life. It lightly tells of the Dakota Access Pipeline and the Standing Rock protests (2016). The illustrations are done such that they themselves emphasize water as their lifeblood.

A sneak peek at the cover of today‘s read aloud. Funny and also a light art education. #classroombookaday

One of today‘s read alouds. I promise you that every page is this busy and detailed. I imagine it would be a nightmare for some of my students, but it is a fantastically imaginative yarn. The drawing are a lot lit those Waldo books or I Spy books. #picturebooks #classroombookaday

This is a sweet story that the 3rd graders enjoyed but it is a lengthy one. Allow for time to really absorb the story and the detailed illustrations. #cbad #classroombookaday

Planning on using this delightful story as my read aloud this week. It‘s a lovely example of narrative non-fiction for my kiddos. #classroombookaday #nonfiction
