HISTORICAL FICTION - DRAMA

What a heartwarming, cozy, feel good read.....a sweet, nostalgic book...but with all good things there usually are regrets, heartbreak, and secrets.

You will be surprised at who/what the “good daughters” turn out to be and will also learn some fun agricultural facts about fruits and vegetables.

If you liked The Glass Castle, you will like this as well.

In this world where children are being bombarded with sex, perverse ideologies, and absent fathers, this book is a cry from the walls for dads to step up and in. We have to engage. We are (outside of the heavenly Father) the role model for their future husbands. We have a direct effect on the course of their life. Be there. Fight for your daughter. Great resource for any dad.

I watched the movie on PureFlix. I cried. I have 3 girls. I'll take all the help I can get!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I picked this book up at the library on a whim. It turned out to be so good I bought a copy. It's now required reading for our family. The author does such a good job of presenting truth in a practical way to help equip parents to do their job.

#SummerSpecial Day 11: This story is told in the voice of a young girl who proudly introduces her father to the reader #FatherDaughter; a father who often apologizes to her for activities they are unable to do together because he is not able to walk. While the father is shown in the first few pages as being in a wheelchair, other pages simply depict him as spending time with his daughter who enjoys his company. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-ppK

Day 8 - Connection

I was undecided whether or not to share my connection with others or nature. This photo symbolises both. The bouquet I picked from my garden, for Mum's 20 year anniversary of her death.
Gone but never forgotten.

I know #internationalwomansday has gone but I celebrate woman everyday 🥰 because I just love them. ❤️
My local library has a very small display of books dedicated I think to female authors and female characters, check it out.

KathyWheeler Weirdly, I‘ve only read one of those books, Red Clocks. I wanted to like that book more than I actually liked it. I‘ll have to check out the others, especially that Pat Barker one. 13mo

La figlia oscura | Elena Ferrante

Mehso-so

3,5/5⭐
Poca trama e molta introspezione nei disagi della protagonista, che proietta il suo senso di inadeguatezza su chi le sta intorno. Ben scritto, ma per me non al livello di altri libri di Elena Ferrante.

Pickpick

I finished my first book of 2023 yesterday! I enjoyed Ferrante‘s My Brilliant Friend, but I was not compelled to continue the series. I read Days of Abandonment and loved it. She is excellent at writing brief, incisive, insular novels that convey the intense emotions of the protagonist. The protagonist in this novel is a middle-aged woman who is grappling with the decisions she made when parenting her now grown children. Tense and brutal.
