I‘m usually not a fan of sequels but this one was nice. And I would read a third book with these characters. I really got to like Darius.

A friend recommended this book to me, & I‘m glad I listened to it because I got to hear the Farsi pronounced correctly instead of me butchering it in my head. I got a little emotional towards the end, a really good story about Darius going to visit family in Iran for the first time. He deals with depression, bullies at school, negative thoughts, & relationship with his dad. Also learned a lot about culture, a bonus to a great YA story.
This has been sitting on my tbr for ages and I read it at the right time. There were some quirks I didn‘t like but the overall feeling was very warm. And I learned so much about Persian culture, especially the food!
So unnecessarily long. This could have been about 400 pages shorter. Also, both characters were boring.
I loved this book so much. From my banned book subscription.
An enjoyable e book/audiobook
Read for reading challenges
4/5
I‘m still chasing the goodness of the first book I read by this author… and this was just so-so. There were some good scenes and live the small town, but didn‘t believe in these characters or their relationship. The upside: 3 squares for April‘s #ISpyBingo and 1 for March, plus a #WickedWord - Massachusetts.

Trix could not remember this and, given her current interest in historical disasters via the I Survive series, I thought she may enjoy a re-listen. It is an amazing story
I loved the show & hearing the backstory as well as how the cast talks about the characters, the stories & each other only made me love it more.
