I had to read this for A Level English and I just loved this book. We were shown the 1946 film with John Mills and Alec Guinness to compare the description in the novel with the film maker's interpretation (hence the pictures) and I have this habit with every film adaptation I watch now when I've read the book.

I love this book. The characters are larger than life and the story Neil Gaiman weaves is brilliant. I have just seen that you can listen to the BBC radio version for free
