I rather enjoyed THIS. An interesting writing style. That's the gauntlet slot for the #HRPGBingo done.

Reading for the #HRPGBingo The Gauntlet slot, read a book with time travel. As recommended by a fellow litten, so thanks!

LectricSheep I loved the Time Machine when I was a kid! I went back and reread it with one of my middle school students this year and was like “oh, hmm, the Weena relationship is...problematic.” 😂 6y
EllanaRose @LectricSheep - I can imagine loving it before you realise the issues it has. It is massively problematic - white guy goes to a new place, kills its natives - but what a fascinating plot twist in the epilogue 6y
LectricSheep I know!!! I still have such fondness for the actual “time machine” elements. 6y
EllanaRose @LectricSheep - I wonder, if it had been written in a less discriminatory time, what would have changed... But oooooh that ending! I got chills at that twist! 6y

I realised I'm an idiot and I can give the details of the #HRPGBingo here. I just have to do it in a lot of comments. So here goes...
Oh and just a warning, I'm a slow typer on my phone. This might take a while!

EllanaRose First is Masters of the Metaverse. Shown by the waffle emote. Read a book with comedy elements. Bonus is to read a book with characters that switch bodies 6y
EllanaRose Second is Indomitable. Shown by the thumper army emote. Read a book with a fictional war. Bonus is to read a book with a civil war but where two sides might not be enough 6y
EllanaRose Third, Krillin it Super. Shown by the thumper fam emote. Read a book with non human characters. Bonus is to read a book with characters that don't know they're not human 6y
See All 17 Comments
EllanaRose Fourth, Ready to Ramble. Shown by the Smash emote. Read a book with a fighter as the main character. Bonus, they are not a "fists of fury" type fighter 6y
EllanaRose Fifth, Cineverse. Shown by the shades emote. Read a book that was turned into a movie. Bonus is to watch the movie. 6y
EllanaRose Sixth, Dealing Damage. Shown by the defend emote. Read a book about characters who defy real life social norms and conventions. Bonus, the social norms and conventions are normal in the book but not for us readers 6y
EllanaRose Seventh, Corporate SINS. Shown by the sharky emote. Read a book that blurs the line between science fiction and fantasy. Bonus, read a book in the Shadowrun universe 6y
EllanaRose Eighth, one shot rpg. Shown by the thumper emote. Read a debut book that is not part of a series. Bonus, a book with less than 10,000 Goodreads reviews. 6y
EllanaRose Ninth, Vanquished, our RPG show that is canon in the Valiant Comic Universe. Shown by the valiant emote. Read a graphic novel. Bonus, read a comic published by Valiant. 6y
EllanaRose Tenth, C Team of Ac Inc. Shown by the green flame emote. Read a book with a classic adventuring group in a fantasy setting. Bonus, the group isn't all male 6y
EllanaRose Eleventh, the Gauntlet. Shown by the skull emote. Read a time travelling adventure. Bonus, it has a reasonable explanation of the grandfather effect 6y
EllanaRose Twelfth, Hyper Quest. Shown by the Amontiock emote. Read a book where the characters make some unlikely friends. Bonus, read a Choose Your Own Adventure book 6y
EllanaRose Thirteenth, Death From Above. Shown by the DFA emote. Read a book with secrets and intrigue. Bonus, read a book in the Battletech universe 6y
EllanaRose Fourteenth, Pencils and Parsecs. Shown by the light and dark side emote. Read a science fiction book. Bonus, read a book in the Star Wars Expanded Universe 6y
EllanaRose Fifteenth, Honesty Hour. Shown by the face-palm emote. Read a banned book, or one that sheds light on a controversial topic. Bonus, it falls into the own voices category 6y
EllanaRose Sixteenth and probably my favourite, Kaiju and Scrapple. Kaiju is the Hyper RPG puppy and Scrapple is a fictional cat that appeared in DFA. Shown by the Kaiju emote. Read a book with a pet (read to a pet, with a pet, a book that has a pet... However you want to interpret it). Bonus, take a picture of said pet and tag me in it 6y
EllanaRose So there's that. All 16 tiles, one for each month. And yes feel free to tag me in your posts; I basically run the Hyper RPG book club on Goodreads, and made this bingo challenge with a friend. Come join us! 6y

Thanks to a severe migraine (ugh) I've been struggling to get anything done. Today seems to be an improvement (yay) so I'm aiming to get the next chapter of this masterpiece complete.
I need to resume my progress with the #HRPGBingo so any recommendations for #Gauntlet (ie: a book with time travel) would be much appreciated!

TricksyTails What is this fun bingo thing with all the cute stickers? Please enlighten me! 😆 6y
EllanaRose @TricksyTails Of course! For more info check out the hyper rpg book club on Goodreads. Basically, each tile matches a show (and Kaiju the dog) on Hyper RPG. There's a reading challenge and a bonus challenge relating to each show and Kaiju. Example: I read Welcome to Night Vale for the #MotM slot, as shown by the waffle emote. 16 tiles, one tile a month. No need to watch the shows to take part. 6y
TricksyTails Thanks so much for explaining it to me! Looks like a lot of fun. Don't have GoodReads but I'll keep an eye out on your posts because this might tempt me to join! 😆 Thank you! 6y

EllanaRose @TricksyTails ... I picked Night Vale because it has comedy elements to it, just like Masters of the Metaverse. Last month I read for Ac Inc, and I picked up the series by Gail Carriger called Finishing School - it involves a group of people going on an adventure, but it also matched the bonus challenge of it not being an all male group. 6y
Centique Oh how about The Doomsday Book for time travel? 😍 6y
Centique Oooh or Kindred. That‘s an amazing one! 6y
EllanaRose @Centique Oooh thanks! 6y
DivaDiane @Centique Doomsday Book was my first thought for time travel. There‘s also The Time Machine, by HG Wells, if you want to read a classic that‘s not too long. Not sure, but Replay, by Ken Grimwood might also fit the bill. 6y
EllanaRose @DivaDiane Thanks so much! I'm tempted by HG Wells as I've never read his work. Thanks for the recommendations! 6y

Going to start this tomorrow I think, but I will be reading it for The Gauntlet slot on the #HRPGBingo card. I've had it for a while now but never seemed to get around to reading it. I'm excited!
That said... I'm tempted by the new Mary Beard book...

After an incredible #Thumper meet up on Saturday I feel like I need to get back to the #HRPGBingo for sure. I just need some recommendations for it. Check out the hyper rpg book club on Goodreads to give your suggestions. And yes, that's me, the one in the wheelchair that is trying to not laugh.
For now, I'm continuing some #ItsSoLateItsEarly reading

It's getting spoopy! I love it!
I'd love to say that this is for the #HRPGBingo but it's not. I still need to work out what I'm doing for it this month.

I finished this a couple of days ago but I forgot to post here. Oops!

A truly beautiful audio book. Read this for the Masters of the Metaverse slot for the #HRPGBingo

Think I might go for the Gauntlet slot next but not sure what to do for it. Ideas welcome!

Cinfhen Such a fun looking board 💗💗💗 7y
EllanaRose @Cinfhen Isn't it just? I helped make it! Check out the hyper rpg book club on Goodreads. That lists all the details and such 7y
Cinfhen Will do, thanks‼️ 7y
