This is a good introduction to pollinator conservation and gardening. 🦋

Mysteries & Marvels of Insect Life by Dr. Jennifer Owen is a NF book all about creepy, crawly, gross insects in my opinion. This book would be a RA in science when learning about insects with detailed facts and statements. #UCFLAE3414F19

AlyssaB An UDL strategy is 7.1 that optimizes individual choice and autonomy. An ESOL strategy 41 has students compile notebooks of their hypothesis, materials, procedures, data, conclusions of experiments, and field experiences. A great resource would be https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/cycles-insect-.... This would be a great add on to this book as a way to incorporate the facts and statements. 3mo

I‘m pooped. It was a busy afternoon harvesting mint and digging up sunflower roots. And when I went to the back gardens we still had bees flying around trying to get the last of the pollen before the flowers give up the ghost for the season.

Freespirit I am making bird and bee baths in my garden and trying to keep flowering plants alive for them during this horrible drought.❤️🐝🌻 3mo
quirkyreader @Freespirit Something that will also help with the plants is to fill up beer or glass bottles with water, up end them and place them around the garden plots. It provides much needed moisture . (edited) 3mo

The illustrations bring life to everything in the pictures. The sun and moon, for example, have faces which makes it bright. The pages with the food the caterpillar ate are unique as well because they‘re shorter in length and they are more interactive.

Eric Carle did a really nice job with this book. The illustrations are so unique and have their own style to them. I will definitely have this book in my classroom.
