MirrorMask @TheLibrarian That's my main concern. I don't know if @Elma got the first book, so you won't be receiving one and I just sent a second book to the same address. I really hope she emails me back. 5y

monalyisha The book I received does have comments from both @TheLibrarian & @Elma! (It started with the latter, then went to the former, then to me). It‘s neat to see two colors of notes in there! #newbie #easilyimpressed 5y

P.S. This mural on the side of my local post office is really amazing, & someone graffitied over parts of it with not-so-amazing art. It‘s a super-bummer. At least my favorite section was high enough up to survive!

rretzler @monalyisha I‘ve put it aside for awhile, I usually do that when something doesn‘t grab me and then I‘ll come back to it later. It may take a while, but I‘ll read it eventually. 5y

monalyisha @rretzler Bummer! It‘s coming to me as part of #LMPBC in the near future. It‘s a gorgeous cover & an interesting premise! 5y

rretzler @monalyisha I hope it grabs you more than it has me. Perhaps I‘m just not in the mood for that type of thing right now. I agree it‘s an interesting premise and I liked, but did not perhaps, love The Essex Serpent. Timing is probably just off for me 5y

rretzler I‘m also around 30% and have put it aside for awhile to read other things. I‘m going to try to finish it slowly. I just don‘t know why it doesn‘t grab me, but I‘m glad to know I‘m not alone.😁 5y

rretzler Good luck! Maybe it will get better? I see several Littens have really enjoyed it. A couple of my favorite books didn‘t get good for me until the second half, which is why I typically don‘t bail on a book. 5y

Oh, hi @TheLibrarian 👋🏻! My book for #LMPBC #LMPBCnC arrived today! We‘re on the way out the door for a walk in the sunshine/some beers/some lunch but it‘s perfect timing, as I just finished a book!

TheLibrarian Hooray!! I didn‘t write too many notes because the whole idea of writing in books is horrifying but I‘m trying to get over that. 5y

monalyisha @TheLibrarian Haha. I was an English major & our professors really encouraged us to mark up the text. So, that‘s not a particular hurdle I have to struggle over. It‘s not a practice I‘ve kept up, though, since I usually borrow library books. So I‘m kind-of thrilled. 😉 I like to see it as: a book changes *you.* It only makes sense to change it right back — at least a bit. A reciprocal relationship. 5y
