Love this book! It's a very creepy F novel about a girl who moves into a strange house and finds herself in many odd situations. She ends up fighting for her life and the souls of other children. A great realistic fiction picture book that I would use as a read aloud. It is another version of WONDER but for a younger age group. Would definitely have a class discussion before and after about respecting others and not judging by appearances. Bought this book for my 3 yr old and she loves the illustrations. I grew up reading emily Dickinsons poetry. She has a range of poems from light and airy to heavy and deep. Her poetry is very interesting to read and opened up my love for writiny. I would reccomend her poetry as a read aloud or author study. She has an interesting life story. The pout pout fish is a great modern fantasy picture book that depicts the very essence of friendship and what a little kindness and love can do for a mopy friend.
