This is an interesting tour of how the London Underground developed, and how it in turn caused London to develop and expand. It details the rivalries between the companies that originally owned the individual lines, and the key players who made the system what it became. The history and the architecture of the system fascinates me.

CarolynM Stacked. I love the London Underground. I once did a tour that covered a lot of the history and pointed out some remnants of it like ghost stations - fascinating! 9mo

TheEllieMo @CarolynM there‘s a programme called Secrets of the London Underground on the Yesterday channel (available on UKTV Play https://uktvplay.co.uk/shows/secrets-of-the-london-underground/watch-online) that shows the old stations and tunnels. It‘s fascinating and I‘m absolutely addicted to it🤣 9mo
CarolynM Ooo! Thank you, I will look that up 🙂 9mo
Andrew65 Sounds a great read. 👏👏👏 9mo

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join in if you want!

wanderinglynn I just finished cataloging all my books yesterday. I currently own 319 books that I haven‘t read! 😆 2y
TheEllieMo @wanderinglynn only 319? Amateur! 🤣🤣 (I‘ll be able to do these posts for the whole year, and then some….) 2y
wanderinglynn At least we‘re all in good book collecting company. What‘s helped me is that the library is a block away. Otherwise, I‘d probably have more. 🙃 2y
Andrew65 I think with the books I own with a book a day I‘ve got enough to last a few years. 😱🤷‍♂️ 2y

This was a two sitting read for me! Steamy hot start with it being set in a secret sex club where everyone wears masks. Loved the class crossing romance and the character development. My first Eva Leigh and will definitely be reading more! #romance #fatedmates recommendation

First heard this recommended on one of my favorite podcasts #fatedmates - was delighted to find it while browsing the shelves at my local library today. Naturally, I had to check it out!! #romance

Julsmarshall I ❤️ #fatedmates too! And I‘m giggling at the sticker placement on that book! 2y
everlocalwest Can't wait your review! I've only read her novellas in the DILF and RILF anthologies but both were great fun. 2y
annahenke @Julsmarshall haha right on the face! 2y
annahenke @everlocalwest loving it so far!! 2y

How I‘ve come to this book ranking is a confusing one. Because on one hand I really like the idea of the book, it‘s a unique and never been done before style of writing. Each page is dedicated to a character on a train. Unique = Good thing. But in order for this to be successful, I think it needed to be written by an entirely different person. Because the Pro Thatcher vibes & misleading info on autism is really quite problematic

Never have I ever been more p*ssed off by a paragraph in a fictional book. I‘m autistic and this has got me fuming. Like what is even the point in writing this. But at the same time what can I expect from a book which seems rather Pro Thatcher 🤦🏼‍♀️

Megabooks This is terrible!! Holy inaccuracies Batman! Wow! 3y
Lissy1 @Megabooks this book is about people on the London Underground. So each page is related to a fictional character. And whilst the author does state that not all information within the book is correct, I don‘t think autism is something to give incorrect information. Especially when their are already so many misconceptions about it. This book was written in the late 90s though so perhaps that‘s what people believed at the time 🤷‍♀️ 3y

I love this little series of extended essays from Penguin. Each one based on one of the tube lines on London. This one takes you on the Metropolitan line out to the suburbs. The closest I‘ll come to travelling across the city for a while! #nfn2020

TheBookHippie I play the sounds of the L train and sit on a chair and daydream 😆 4y

Well done, Eva Leigh. Well done.
