I really enjoyed this book however I am going to say it‘s more of a guilty pleasure like as I feel like the book came across rather sexist. But it‘s written by a women so I kinda feel like there was a point behind it which I‘ve missed. The book follows a women who gets dumped on a live TV show along with 6 others where after they remain in a big brother style house to compete in challenges for a prize of Q9M.

I cannot recommend this book enough! It‘s so informative and written in such an amazing way that makes it very easy to read. The story is a true story about how a Lesbian and Gay group helped a mining community in wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 during a strike in the 1980‘s. One thing I really liked about this book is that the politics wasn‘t all one sided. It was about 80/20, but still more than you‘d usually get

I read this book after someone on postcrossing suggested it to me. It‘s a biography / diary from WW2 about different people and there ways of living. The 1st of which is the inspiration to the stage show cabaret. Although I enjoyed the Sally Bowles chapter, unfortunately that was the only one I really found interesting.

Today I finished this book after 5 days. I decided to read this because the movie is my favourite movie of all time. Although I preferred the movie, it doesn‘t take away how moving and important this book is, it made me more aware and think about the horrible prejudices back in the 60s and how ‘Sir‘ overlooked that and moulded the minds of his students for the better. A must read!

How I‘ve come to this book ranking is a confusing one. Because on one hand I really like the idea of the book, it‘s a unique and never been done before style of writing. Each page is dedicated to a character on a train. Unique = Good thing. But in order for this to be successful, I think it needed to be written by an entirely different person.
