#bookspin - March #msplbookclub @TheAromaofBooks

This is a 💎 of a 📖!! Grandma Gatewood wakes the Appalachian Trail (& many others) after the age of 67. She and the author have inspired me to get back to walking places. I used to walk everywhere as a kid!
Learning about her life and her legacy was eye opening. Totally recommend!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

TheAromaofBooks I've been meaning to read this one (we even own it!) for a while since we only live about half an hour from the Hocking Hills and hike their frequently. 3y
keys_on_fire @TheAromaofBooks you do?? I‘m only 45 min away! 3y
keys_on_fire @TheAromaofBooks You should read it and we could plan to meet there some weekend this summer! 3y
TheAromaofBooks haha that would be fun! Which direction are you? I'm north of Logan/east of Lancaster. 3y
keys_on_fire @TheAromaofBooks I‘m south of Columbus :) I‘ve always wondered if I‘d ever get to meet a Litsy friend! (edited) 3y

#MSPLBookClub pick for May 2019
I sped through this book about the history of the Los Angeles Central library, which had a devastating fire in the mid-80‘s. My favorite parts were learning about the science behind fires of that magnitude and how the librarians through the years rallied to keep the library relevant. My least favorite part was the attempt to follow the investigation of arson. It just didn‘t seem to fit.

My #MSPLbookclub did a beach read mystery swap for June. This is the one I ended up with. Since I‘m going to the beach this month, I‘ll be taking it with me!

We also went to the movies together tonight to see Book Club. Pretty funny flick!

Guernsey Island 1946. Many books have been recommended to me recently that are set around WWII, & I‘ve never been able to finish them. Some will say this book didn‘t accurately reflect the tone of the time; I say it helped me learn about a period of history without getting lost in minutiae. I enjoyed watching the main character learn about herself while exploring her observations of others, which I find I do in my own life. #MSPLbookclub

I really enjoyed this book. It was a pick from the #MSPLbookclub. The book goes back and forth in time, but it is handled in such a way that it is not confusing to the reader. I look forward to reading more from this author!
