I really love this time travel/alternate history series! Chomping at the bit for the third one so I‘ll need to track that down asap. A LOT happens in this globe spanning epic w/ a large cast of characters, but it doesn‘t feel bogged down. I adore many of the characters (especially the Hollard siblings and their royal love interests 😉) and I think the author does a great job of not making the ancients stupid or inferior to the Nantucketers.

A Summer Affair: A Novel | Elin Hilderbrand

This was not the Elin Hilderbrand for me. Turns out, I do not like books where the focus is an affair. I did like the parts about the gala, Claire‘s glass blowing, Gavin, and Siobhan but really did not like the Claire/Lock storyline. I would have DNFed if it wasn‘t for the Elin H project.

Always the perfect summer read! I enjoyed this Elin Hilderbrand story as one of my “farewell to summer” books as the summer is winding down and the fall will be coming soon. They always make me want to plan a vacation to Nantucket!

Our time is split between two women. Beth whose husband has just left her for a work colleague. And Olivia whose son died age 8. Their stories entwine 68% of the way into the book and only for a few pages.

I'm not sure what was the project of this book, what the author was aiming for. It's flat, leads nowhere and for a book about Autism, it doesn't educate or enlighten at all.

Compared to her other titles this is weak.

A recently restored luxury hotel becomes the nexus for the stories of a ghost, a general manager dealing w/ a cheating ex, a rich boy dealing w/ a secret, & more.

Very much a beach read! A pretty slow, frothy, tangle of storylines all connected by the hotel w/ too much POV switching. I ended up flipping my opinions on a lot of characters, loved all the descriptions of food, & kept texting my mom about all the architectural restoration. 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

Well, that was aptly named.

I did find the resolution with the Richardsons rushed, a little more on it would have been nice. But otherwise, this was just what I wanted from Hilderbrand‘s last Nantucket novel. Juicy and fun!
