Bill likes this book as a pillow book more than I did as my latest read. I‘ve learned that I am not the reader for these very plot-driven stories. I‘m not built for the drama. Jesus, could these people have had more trauma? Also, I‘m going to accuse Sheridan of some absolute emotional manipulation at the end. She stated very specific information in a way to lead the reader to think this thing had happened but then, no no, just kidding. Ughh. 🙄

quite the emotional read. coming of age amidst the chaos of 9/11, contemplations of beauty and scars, and grappling with life after loss... there‘s a lot to feel along with these characters—but it‘s not without hope, love, and community. i‘m glad i read it.

Man, I don‘t even care. I have fun reading these. A friend from work felt alone in her fandom, so I told her I would read these, even though it‘s not my genre. I enjoy the world these characters live in and I‘m intrigued enough about where this story is going to keep reading. They‘re just a bit of fun and what‘s to hate about that?

For me this was not her best writing. I love Colleen Hoover books but this was very slow. I give it 3 1/2 stars.

4⭐
This features a slow-burn romance with satisfying buildup and occasional steamy moments, all set against an apocalyptic fantasy backdrop. I sensed where the story was headed and was relieved to be right—it could have crashed and burned so easily.
🎙️It feels like this was a waste as a GraphicAudio production since it essentially only has two characters for the majority of the story. But I still enjoyed it nonetheless.

I had a pretty unenthusiastic month of reads for September. I read a total of three books, but I‘m hoping to do so much better this month. I got a whole slew of horror and horror romance in line for the month so I‘m kind of excited. But of course I have a few fantasy and comedy included as well. I also have a list of books that I‘m behind in and plan to make my primary read in November, so we‘ll see how that goes. #BookSpinBingo
