panUnpopular opinion incoming.....Sports setting, emotional baggage, honest(ish) characters and spice had potential, but I struggled to connect—especially with Scarlett, whose emotions felt inconsistent. Lukas‘s side rang truer. Fun sports backdrop, good audio, but too long and a bit eye-roll-y. If you are into spicy sports romance with younger, emotionally messy characters this one might be for you. Unfortunately, it wasn't for me. ⭐️⭐️💫/5 ❤️📚🎧
so-soMeh. I like bodyguard romances, but this one just felt… I think maybe if I‘d read the first book, I‘d be able to follow better, but I am not interested in backtracking. It‘s fine, but certainly not the best rom I‘ve read this year.

so-soI can‘t say this book was terrible but definitely not my fav by Hoover. It‘s just didn‘t capture me in the beginning and once the twist came I was already checked out. This is a series and I will not be reading the others as I just didn‘t feel invested in the characters and don‘t really care to continue their journey. I did like how to story connected in the end and I definitely didn‘t see the end coming.
