April 2025 I only read 5 books
Read #BookSpin #DoubleSpin & #AuthorAMonth
No Bingos
I could say that with the exception of Scenes of the Crime, I enjoyed my readings

Best book: Hester
But also liked The Alice Network

There is not much I can say without putting in spoilers. However, the plot twists were evident from a hundred miles away. The main characters were cringy and controlling. The main dude apparently is perfect but cold and has a perfect memory. Apparently us as the reader do not have a perfect memory because it was stated at least once per chapter, sometimes more. I would hate to be treated the way the main lady was treated as a person. Ugh, sunshine

AnnCrystal 👏🏼🥺👍🏼 good review. I found Alex Volkov to be utterly disrespectful and borderline abusive. I had read this because I have a thing for beauty and the beast themes...which, for me, this failed to truly capture. Wondered how this could be even be considered a romance 🤗📚💝. 5d
freeatlast1137 @AnnCrystal I completely agree, and possessive, how dare she have a life. 😬 2d
AnnCrystal @freeatlast1137 Ava should have baked red velvet cookies with white chocolate chips and gave them to Alex with a note card that stated “if you truly love me, you will do the impossible and omit me from your life's story. Goodbye my Drago, Sincerely your lost Sunshine.“ I would have enjoyed that ending 🤗📚💝. (edited) 2d

I loved this book! It was a good strangers to friends (with benefits) to lovers book. Sophie and Max have a strong bond, that later becomes something more. I've really enjoyed myself some Lynn Painter recently, and I highly reccomend her!

Small Spoiler: On Sophie's wedding day, Max “objects“ and their love story starts there.

LibraryThing Early Reviewer book.

Narrated in 1st person, present tense from 2 POVs; Raina & Alexus. There's supposed to be sexual tension between them but I'm not really feeling it. Starting part II of IV
Competently written but if I put it down it doesn‘t call me to pick it up again and the quality of the. writing fluctuates a bit.

humouress 🔖 “It‘s been eight long years since the Witch Collector took my sister.
Every harvest moon, he rides into our valley, black cloak whipping in the wind, and leads one of us to Winterhold, home of the immortal Frost King, to remain forever. It‘s been this way for a century, and today is that day—Collecting Day.“

She does tend to be a bit melodramatic 🙄

Ugly Love: A Novel | Colleen Hoover

Tate is in nursing school, working around the clock & living with her brother. When she stumbles into one of her brothers neighbors, miles, her heart skips a beat. They form a relationship that should have no future, but together they find healing& fulfillment in one another. Miles has a traumatic past he never wanted to expose to Tate, but in doing so he freed his pain. Lots of repetitive romance scenes but a feel good book that keeps you hooked!

4✨ The ending has you wanting more. It‘s pretty good. Just a little too spicy for me.
