Three possible candidate for prompt#5 of the #Booked2019 challenge

#RoddyDoyle is an accomplished, award-winning Irish author. His fiction is historical and rooted in the troubling aspects of life in Modern Ireland.

#WomanWhoWalkedIntoDoors and it's sequel #PaulaSpencer tackle domestic violence in a Catholic society opposed to Divorce.

BarbaraTheBibliophage I read my first John Boyne last year, The Heart‘s Invisible Furies. He tackles the social mores of Irish Catholicism too. Not surprised to see it‘s a common theme among Irish writers. (Tagging @Cinfhen again, our third co-host.) 5y

Homegoing: A novel | Yaa Gyasi

We are starting a book club at work and my coworker who is organizing asked me to come up with some suggestions of books to read. I don‘t want to pick books I‘ve read already since I‘m participating but now I‘m stressing out about what to pick. Any book I should add or skip? The only one I‘ve read is Homegoing. Our first pick is going to be Becoming by Michelle Obama.

bookcollecter Any genre? 5y

bookcollecter No worries 😁. Not sure if you have read any of these, but they are all award winners and would be excellent for discussion. 5y
