A great ending to the trilogy. The mystery was interesting, but the best part of the book was Darren‘s developing relationship with his mother.

ErikasMindfulShelf @KT1432 True, but it was a satisfying ending. 3mo

The three Maxwell sibling have been staying away from the house they grew up in for years. Something unexplainable took place there. Is the house itself evil? Now they are forced to come back and face their past.
I found parts of the story interesting, but overall it didn‘t quiet work for me. It was not a book I was eager to get back to.

In a world where AI is getting more and more prominent, this was a very interesting and at the same time a bit frightening book. It made me think about the way we interact with and take care of the world and the people around us. At its core it‘s a story about family and motherhood and the things we do to keep our children safe and happy.

I loved Jane‘s story. All the hardships and flaws as well as the great friendships and love. Interweaved with her story is the history of a place and the women who lived there.

Today was a snow day for me so I could spend all day reading this magical story. If you loved The Wishing Game, this one will not disappoint. The author started with a fitting quote from C.S. Lewis. “Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.” I am old enough. Loved it!

4 stars until the ending. Way too long of a book for that kind of ending.

AmyG I actually put this one down…it was slow. Still need to pick it up. 10mo
squirrelbrain I hated the ending of this one - way too overwrought, preposterous and very suddenly…nothing. 10mo
Suet624 That ending annoyed me soooo much. 10mo

ErikasMindfulShelf @AmyG It‘s taken me almost 4 weeks to get through. Very slow. 10mo
ErikasMindfulShelf @squirrelbrain @Suet624 I threw my kindle (on the couch) after reading the ending. So much time invested for that!! 10mo
Suet624 I know, right? I sputtered for quite some time and am still mad that I wasted time on it. 10mo
Missusb I read (most of) Skippy Dies. Also long and slow. But this ending interests me… 10mo
ErikasMindfulShelf @Missusb I‘ve had Skippy Dies on my shelf for a long time. Not sure I‘m going to read that one now. 10mo

A great page turner about Lucy who can‘t remember the night her best friend was killed. Everyone seems to think she did it, but there was no proof. It‘s now 5 years later and a podcaster has taken an interest in the case.
