Did not read the tagged book. I read a collection of translated poetry by Anita Ghahreman. Born in Iran, written in Farsi & translated into English her poems were lyrical, sad, sensual. I'm not "deep" enough to appreciate all the nuances but I enjoyed some quiet moments of reflection. #ReadHarderChallenge2017 #poetryintranslation

Poets Translate Poets: A Hudson Review Anthology | Paula Deitz

Spending a little time at home this morning, so I'm enjoying a delicious breakfast of yogurt, granola, and blueberries with an iced coffee and some poetry on the front porch. This is a slow read for me, just a few poems every once in a while, but I'm really enjoying it as my choice for poetry in translation for the @bookriot Read Harder Challenge.

How is everyone doing on the #readharder challenge? I'm near the finish line. 😅I chose this author for #poetryintranslation because he's considered the Ukraine's Henry Walden plus much of his work was banned. Very intriguing reasons to read this! Includes vivid and rustic narratives plus a three-act play. It was a tough read for this poetry novice, but I couldn't help admiring how his gnawing words reflected his loneliness and struggles.

isn't *obstacle free* a harsher siege...

I read this as a collection of #poetryintranslation for #readharder. It's a strange one, with themes of nature and the body, birth and traffic, vases and weather. There are parts I just can't grasp, and I suspect reading the original before translation would be very different. But I enjoyed reading it.
