This book does a great job of representing the main character‘s cultural background. It has elements of the characters heritage. This allows the book to be relatable to a diverse audience.

"Soul of the Hunter" is a sequel to this creative team's lauded story arc, "Kraven's Last Hunt", in which Kraven takes Spidey down and buries him alive for two weeks, proving to himself, at least, that he is superior and, having nothing left to prove, kills himself.
In this GN, DeMatteis shows a newly-married Peter Parker dealing with PTSE following this ordeal, haunted by terrifying visions of the dead Kraven, retraumatised by memories of his ⬇️

DeMatteis says he wrote this as a response to criticisms that the original story glorified suicide, something he wanted to distance himself from, which he does, and while I don't agree with several of his views on the subject, it is a thoughtful treatment and takes the subject seriously. 4🕸️

TieDyeDude Interesting. I read the deluxe edition of Kraven\'s Last Hunt, which included a lot of bonus material, but not this. I\'ll have to see if it\'s available on Hoopla 2mo
Bookwomble @TieDyeDude I've got the individual issues of KLH in my long boxes, somewhere. It'd take more trouble than its worth to dig them out 😄 2mo

“Spider-Man/Kingpin: To the Death“ sounds good on paper, being a reunion of Stan Lee and John Romita, and while JR's pencils were still classic and clean, Stan's schtick felt hokey and stale. The story was plotted by Tom DeFalco, and was okay, if nothing startlingly original.
While it was good to read a Spidey & Daredevil team-up, it's 3🕸️ for me.

Miles Morales is having a bad day. He is serving in-school suspension for standing up for himself and so distracted by thoughts of bad teachers, fairness and girls that he almost misses the villain sitting near him. The “day in a life” narrative is told with simple exposition punctuated with spare gorgeous poetry. Four ⭐️s for this novel that has Miles take on racism and other critters.
