The boys and I are constantly delighted by the stories of E.B. White. A trip to the library isn't complete without checking out one of his audiobooks (charmingly read by the author himself). Today's excerpt seemed especially timely. I love when a children's author can state an important truth in such a way that even an adult can understand it. :)

KCorter @lmstraubie I think I prefer the audio because his voice makes the stories even more cozy and heartwarming. I actually didn't even know about Some Writer until Litsy! I immediately added it to my TBR. I think I'll pick it up when we finish The Trumpet of the Swan. :)

KCorter This is exactly how I felt (and still feel) about camping. There is a kind of magic in isolation. I felt most myself when mundane distractions faded away and I was left with my most basic needs and desires. Maybe it's an introvert thing, but I find time alone necessary to my survival. 8y
EloisaJames I think there are few better sounds that the click of the door as it closes after the last of my (beloved) family members, giving me a day to myself. 8y
