I love #HiddenBooks game. I managed to do this one in 3 hours with only a few tantrums this year.

Have a go. It can get frustrating, but it is fun.

Find the book titles with National Book Tokens' Hidden Books Game https://share.google/0wE19ZlPNiBmqKXY0

PuddleJumper Ooo I try to do this every Christmas and fail spectacularly! 23h
AllDebooks @PuddleJumper happy to help if you need some tips. 21h

4⭐️ Some things just don‘t change. The 19th century Warsaw was all about money, women, greed, and racism. It was bad then, it is worse now. I enjoyed Prus‘ humour - I didn‘t know he could be cheeky and funny 😆

Enjoying this chunky novel 😃 Are you tackling any chunkster now?

Amiable I‘m currently reading this book: 4mo
Dilara The book I am reading right now is under 300 pages, as were most of the books I read recently. I like to keep chunksters for holidays, when possible! I am wishlisting The Doll: it sounds interesting. 4mo
Ruthiella Just finished Wives and Daughters which is over 600 pages and am currently working on a collection of all three Kristen Lavransdatter novels 4mo

LeeRHarry I‘ve just started the tagged for my bookgroup catch up at the end of the month. Not sure I‘m going to like it… 4mo
sisilia @Amiable That book has been in my possession for years 😭 I hope to read it soon 4mo
sisilia @Dilara It is surprisingly funny. Lots of giggles while reading it 🤣 4mo
sisilia @Ruthiella Wow 💪🏻💪🏻 How did you find the Gaskell‘s novel? 4mo
sisilia @LeeRHarry That looks quite chunky… and the cover looks serious 4mo
Ruthiella @sisilia It was fantastic. Completely restored my faith in Gaskell. She‘s been hit or miss for me. (edited) 4mo
sisilia @Ruthiella Oh good! I‘ll suggest this for my bookgroup 4mo

Reading Madeline's book, I've learned just how important it is to not let education be "stifled or cultures to be erased or books to banned" I could not have come up with better words to share the importance of preserving stories and history, learning from them, and providing access to those in times of war or crisis to the stories that they need to help them survive.

Amazing! I absolutely loved this book. This is the second book I have read by Madeline and both were amazing. I cannot wait to read more of her work. I will be adding Madeline to my list of favorite authors for sure.

I absolutely love these Hidden Books games, even if they do drive me nuts.

When the Nazis launched an attack on education, libraries and books, the Polish people fought back. This is the story of young women who banded together, hiding and smuggling books in any way that they could, so that people could still read. Fascism tried to stamp out Jewish people and books once before. It is trying to stamp out other people and even more books again. This is a fictional book based on real events, but it should serve as a ⬇️

JenniferEgnor warning. Do not forget that when they ban and burn books, they will do the same to people. 1y
TheBookHippie In my lifetime, this has been for me the most dangerous time to be Jewish. 1y
JenniferEgnor @TheBookHippie one of my closest friends is Jewish and is sometimes afraid to tell her boss and co-workers, or wear her Star of David necklace over her shirt. When we used to escort together at clinic, the protesters would target her because of it, too. What a time we are living in. 1y

What might be for erased from the world‘s knowledge with the destruction of just a single book? And what of hundreds of books? Thousands of books?

A teacher, community leader, and respected doctor, 60 yo Janusz Korczas runs an orphanage. He and his team desperately try to save the children from disease, starvation and Nazi persecution in 1939 Poland. Tender, philosophical, authentic 💔
