Kept me reading and since it‘s based on a true story I know my irritations mean zilch but it still irritated me that an EIGHT year old forgot his entire childhood. I just can‘t even imagine. But I guess that‘s what happened so....
I did not expect to enjoy this story so much. Kidnapped in India at eight and adopted in the US, Taj is struggling to find out who he is. Themes of loss and belonging and opportunity and helping others are explored in the midst of a story I raced through to see its resolution.
This is Buns. The most stubborn vindictive but snuggly kitty you‘ll ever meet. She has this powerful snore/heavy breathing when she‘s sleeping that is impossible not to fall asleep to. It could cure insomnia, I tell you! It‘s the reason I can never stay awake when I try to read. #catsofinstagram
Had a delicious meal and book club meeting today to discuss this great book!
Me, 12:30am: I‘ll just read a couple of chapters then go to bed.
Me, 3:45am: Damn, that was a good book.
Me, 8am: I make poor decisions.
My first audiobook! I listened to it on the insanely long flights I had to and back from Japan. I really loved the uniqueness and messages of this story. I felt that some of the characters lacked development (the adopting parents) and sometimes just had an irritating character (like the main character...). But overall, this is a fantastic read!
