Pickpick

It was right around St. Valentine's Day when I went 2 Walmart & found this. Their bookshelves had mostly Romance reads.

I usually browse to see if there is any love stories in the fantasy genre. This time however, I just finished watching the novela, #amorimposible & I “needed“ something similar.

By the time I found this, it felt like buried treasure. It didn't seem what I was searching for at that moment in time, yet it was fantasy...👇

AnnCrystal At first, it seemed similar to the the start of, The Kiesha're series by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes: a marriage to bring peace.

Not perfect, yet an unexpected delight! Even had the Beauty And The Beast vibes that had made me obsessed with, Amor Imposible.

Here's some notions...

Vampires were missing a bit of the mysterious they're usually known for. Nonetheless, I did like that the vampires were a species instead of some type of mutation. 👇

AnnCrystal Loved the Were's & how they seemed the most sophisticated of the three species. I'm careful with “wolf“ books because many seem to still hold a negative perspective about wolves, or are overly x-rated. While this did become steamy, it did not incredibly dominant the storyline...and they became acquainted first.

Lowe's demeanor seemed to suggest someone who is well into their thirties and not twenty-something.

Oh, what a lovely read.

At the end, a book reunits these two. Means this is Litsy worthy, right?

This is a telenovela. For those who don't know, a novela is a temporary soap opera. Usually runs from 3 months to just over a year. Like an extra long limited/mini-series.

Been awhile since I've watched one. Have to find one I like that is CC in english, then watch every night without multitasking. Once in awhile, I find one worth it. This one was definitely worthy. 👇

AnnCrystal Gulcemal's mom loved another before she was forced to marry Gulcemal's dad. After she has Gulcemal, then a daughter, she abandons her family for her one true love and has another son.

When Gulcemal finds his dad's body (suicide), he goes crazy and runs to his mother. Something happens and he kills his stepdad.

After prison. Gulcemal finds his sister and they live on the streets. Building a makeshift family as they grow-up. 👇

AnnCrystal Not sure if Deva's mom was abandoned like Gulcemal's dad or a mistress. Either way, Deva is the illegitimate kid of Gulcemal's stepdad.

Not knowing who she is, Gulcemal falls madly for Deva.

From Deva's POV, Gulcemal goes from villain2hero/hero2villain. Deva continuously attempts to kill Gulcemal while he tries to protect her from his mom's huntsmen.

The depth of these characters gave a suspenseful, intoxicating story with a grand conclusion 👇

AnnCrystal I've watched these soap dramas from different countries, although mainly from/about Mexican/South American. This one seemed dubbed for the Spanish speaking market. Perhaps Turkish?

I've added this to my mom's & my DVD wishlist. Only caught the last month of it, & missed the last week leading up to the final two episodes...imagine my surprise when I discovered that the storyline jumped six years! Fortunately, I was able to catch up (both times).
