I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!

Teresereading I haven‘t heard of this one before 3w

After reading her biography I really wanted to read some of her books. This is the third I have read and the first she had published in 1990. It‘s taken me a long time to get through, it was not a page turner. The way she writes is exquisite. I‘m sure if she had lived this young woman would have written many great Aussie stories. I felt a bit sad leaving Clementine , the main character and narrator, at the end of the book.

CarolynM I was looking at this on my shelf yesterday and thinking I need to get to it soon🙂 1mo
Jeg @CarolynM I‘ll be interested to see what you think. You must have had that copy for a long time. Hard copies are difficult to get here in our library system. She was/is an amazing weaver of words. 1mo

My Backlist Readathon for 2024. 12 Authors I'll read throughout the year.

@TheAromaofBooks

tokorowilliamwallace I usually try to seek out backlist books at the library and thrifting over new/recent releases anyway, but this is a cool idea for me to set for my TBR next year. I'll keep a look out for more. 4mo
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! I was putting together my list of authors yesterday, too!!! 4mo

This was great! The characters were so full, and cleverly thought out so not to be stereotypes. The detail snout indigenous people was essential to the story and incredibly interesting to me.
Looking forward to reading another before it hits Netflix...

SONG OF SPHERES - Walker Larson

“As an indie author, it's hard to stand out from the crowd. Your reading of the book is a real help. Song of Spheres will appeal to those who like a philosophical/theoretical edge and a character-focused style to their adventure stories. It grapples with questions about our place in the universe and how scientific theories can impact human life. Slow build in first half, action-packed in the second.”

Soscha This isn‘t in the system yet. You can likely pick up a free copy on StoryOrigin or Goodreads. 6mo

Yesterday my friend, fellow book club member and neighbour, Kate was giving away all of these books and more kerbside. I got some for my partner, some for myself and some for the little people in my life. What a score. My nephew is into the Ripley‘s and my partner loves Hemingway.
