I finally got to realize my dream of trying Makkoli, the Korean fermented rice liquor, and I‘m in love. It‘s like sake and kombucha had a delicious baby, with a touch of coconut water in the mix. I‘m definitely getting it again.
I doubt I‘m in LOVE with Jenny Colgan‘s third School By the Sea novel, but it‘s highly readable so far and that‘s just what I need tonight. Bring on the boarding school shenanigans!
pickThis is a beautiful book about the culture of Nokomis, a Native tribe, hair. Also my first new ereader library book. How this girl loves growing her hair out. It gets shares a difficult part, of the “reform schools” taking the children‘s hair. I love how it simply describe each year of her life and how it is woven in her hair. Hair that connects her to Mother Nature.
