Always feels timely & perceptive, with both spot-on incisive & broad satirical strokes, & a deeply resonant understanding of emotions. #netflix #booksontv

Pickpick

I haven't seen the tv series but talk of it put this back on my radar. It was definitely entertaining. I think maybe I expected it to go more places? And the ending left me scratching my head a bit. Does the show come off depressing? Some of this seemed like it'd be hard to watch. #mommyreads #audiobook #booksontv

Zelma I am betting the show is different, as most adaptations. I remember the book being so sad and very quiet. More about how to deal with the aftermath emotionally than a ton of action. 7y
alanacristin @Zelma exactly! I guess I assumed there would be more action given the adaptation. But i should know better! it was nice this way, just not what I'd expected. And not with the answers i always crave 😂 7y

This Netflix series is adorable 😍 Clearly I need to read the books. Any thoughts on how they compare? #booksontv #netflix

It may be cheating, but I'm using my #LitsyPartyofOne to catch up with some #booksonTV There are worse ways to spend an evening than with King Eliot the Spectacular, Queen Margo the Destoyer, Queen Alice the Wise, King Quentin the Moderately Socially Maladjusted, and... Penny.

monalyisha I loved these books and despised the tv show. I couldn't make it through the first season. The acting was just *so* bad (with the exception of Eliot & Mayakovsky). 7y
Samwise_Gamgee I got all caught up today! 7y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk @monalyisha The first season stumbled around quite a bit, but I thought the last few episodes were solid (with the exception of Ember). The more it got away from the books and did its own thing the better it got, I think. The Fillory stuff has been great so far in Season 2. 7y
monalyisha That's good to know. Maybe I'll come back to it once I'm finished with "A Series of Unfortunate Events" and am desperate for new t.v. (edited) 7y

Hello, friends! While I will be having a #LitsyPartyofOne this evening, my wife will be out which means I shall control the TV. Which #booksonTV show should I catch up on? The Magicians or The Expanse? Science or magic? What do you think?

jpmcwisemorgan Magic. 7y
GypsyKat Ohhh, I'm so interested to read this series! I know there are still more to come out though. 7y
