Middle grade horror might be the horror I might be able to handle!

Karisimo Ha! Yes, it leaves out the gore for the most part! 2mo

Ohhh this is a struggle isn't it? I have switched to audio because I couldn't pay attention to the print (getting to end of pages and not remembering a thing), but I don't think the audio is helping my mind keeps drifting even as I search downtown #PDX for the #Coraline cats

BarbaraBB I did audio and had a hard time too 😀 4mo
Megabooks This one was more of a struggle than I wanted to be, too. 4mo

When Coraline moves to an old house, she feels bored and neglected by her parents. She finds a hidden door with a bricked up passage. During the night, she crosses the passage and finds a parallel world where everybody has buttons instead of eyes, with caring parents and all her dreams coming true. When the Other Mother invites Coraline to stay in her world forever, the girl refuses and finds that the alternate reality is only a trick to lure her.

The elements that are added to this story so so creative and give a somewhat eerie feeling that is twisted and hooks you and draws you in.

Coralline jones discovers an alternate world that she crawls through a small door that is like a portal in her new home. It is like an alternate reality with animals that can talk and people who look just like her parents. She goes between universes but her parents get kidnapped and she has to save them to bring them back to the real world.

“ They say even the proud of spirit can be broken with love” This quote is so sad yet so true. Especially young ones who have so much love for the parents or guardians and they don‘t care about them or abuse them or belittle them. Crushed spirits usually come from a powerful source. I know it hurts the worst when someone you love puts you down.

As a young girl I had always wondered if my parents where too nice and fun for me to have other parents. I felt lucky to have good parents so I wouldnt get trapped by the other mother. I also thought how I would just keep getting the things I want from her and tell her I will get buttons eyes later like keep pushing her off! I love this story!

One of my favorite books/movies! A speculative fiction creation!
A daring 11-year-old girl discovers a different universe that contains dangerous secrets but is oddly an idealized replica of her miserable home. Coraline feels abandoned by her parents and bored after moving into an old house. She discovers a secret door next to a blocked off hallway, where she finds her “other” family where is life is nearly too perfect!
